A Welcoming Change In Power

19 November, 2008 (00:00) | By: Datepad

It seems that there is collapse all around us in the world today. Most notably are the banking institutions scrambling frantically to keep their heads above water. Some have just succumbed and realized that their last ditch efforts was too little, too late.

You will notice the fear and panic of other large institutions, trying to stay ahead of the game. Have you not noticed the increased number of telemarketing calls you receive asking you if you were aware of their institution’s services offered and that they know you can’t live without? Or, perhaps another credit card that you have been pre-approved for. Is there anyone else in your household that you would like have access to spending on your card? It’s their desperate attempt to drum up business in order to keep their salaries going.

In the automotive industry, there are record losses this quarter, which translates to job losses throughout the world. People know they are in a recession and buying a new car just does not make sense.

Companies holding credit are also contacting you in record time if your bill is past due. They are quickly jumping on accounts that are barely past due as they know these are tough economic times and many people are financially strapped, so if they can reach you first before other creditors do, then they have a greater chance of recovering their funds.

What is fundamentally happening is the loss of power. Power that has been misused and misguided for a very long time. It has finally turned in on itself and everything will be affected by it. It is sweeping across every institution of power and no institution will be left out.

Take a look at the churches that have been under such scrutiny over the last few years. Think of how their dogma, control of power and money have dominated for so many years. In these difficult times, people have lost faith with so many institutions, including the church and even the church has to find different ways of defending the faith. Wagging their fingers and telling people that they will go to hell if they don’t do this or that, just does not work any longer.

The good that will come out of this, and there always is, you just have to look hard sometimes to find it, is the change that it will bring. People will no longer trust the institutions that have been there for so long, but will learn to trust in themselves and ultimately make better decisions about their own inner economy. No point in trusting a bank that your money is safe when they can no longer save their own. People will get smarter and learn how to handle their financial affairs more responsibly.

They will inquire more, research more and make a more concerted effort of accountability and responsibility about themselves and their loved ones. No one will do something just because everyone else is doing it. Those days of abuse of power and the masses is leaving and what is coming into fruition is a time of co-operative discussion and balanced decision making, with even distribution of trade and commerce globally.
